Classic Guitar Styles of Duke Robillard: A Guide to Playing Authentic Blues, Jazz and Rock 'n' Roll (Guitar Educational) [Paperback] Review

Classic Guitar Styles of Duke Robillard: A Guide to Playing Authentic Blues, Jazz and Rock 'n' Roll [Paperback]Yes, the CD is worth the price alone. In one ear you can study the rhythm side of each track and in the other ear start to work on the many choruses of each track. Duke wants you to understand what he's doing and where it comes from. He's as interested in the guitars as he is in the music and the book is loaded with information about the history of the music he plays and the instruments he plays it on. There's a great section of suggestions for listening and anecdotes of the greats he's studied and played with throughout his career. I suspect co-author Dave Rubin has done a lot to make this package so accessible.

Also check out Duke's DVD lessons on his hero, T Bone Walker, along with a Hot Shots DVD of lessons and a concert DVD of him playing.
