Extremely informative and easy to understand although it is a big advantage if you happen to be a skilled sight reader. Nevertheless there is a tablature format for those who aren't. Your technique and knowledge of chordal harmony will most definitely improve after you peruse the pages. The analysis of Robben Fords stunning version of "Aint Got Nothin' But The Blues" in the last section of this bookis second to none. It's very accurate and the chordal variations are beautiful to the ear. The music notation is very comfortable to read and not done in tiny print. I know it sounds odd to note this point but so many books have print that is virtually impossible to read unless you have access to interrogation cell lighting or a magnifying glass strapped to your forehead.
The block positions for mixolydian/pentatonic scales are nicely arranged. They are easy to remember.
This isn't a very thick book and is ideal for those, like me, who have a short attention span and can't process lots of spurious details.
Robben gives you just the right amount of information, just enough to stir the imagination.
