The first modification I made on my Ibanez RG270 was installing this pickup. This was 15 years ago, and I was 16.The main reason I chose this model was the name... I wanted to play heavy metal.Fortunately, this pickup is much more versatile than the name lets on.Yeah, you get some great metal tones from it.Tight, punchy bass, screaming hot high end and impressive mids. It's a high output pickup, but it cleans up nicely.Back off the volume knob a bit, and you get a very crisp, bright clean tone. The only criticism I have is that it might not be balanced enough for jazz players (I dabble in all types of music, including jazz)...But I don't see any looking to this pickup anyway.Seriously, anyone wanting a great pickup for rock, blues, metal...give this one a look!
